Could you use $10,000 to improve your retail business? Point-of-sale system provider Harbortouch is offering a $10,000 prize  to the retailer who submits the best video on how the prize money would help his or her business grow.

“The economy is improving but a lot of merchants are still struggling,” says Nate Hirshberg, Harbortouch marketing manager. “This is what we came up with to help out with some extra capital.”

In addition to the $10,000 prize, Harbortouch will waive the $69 per month service fee on a Harbortouch POS system for one year for the winning business.

Huge Boost In U.S. Oil Output Set To Transform Global Market

U.S. oil production is rising sharply and increased output from shale will be a “game changer” in global energy markets in the coming years, according to a new report out Tuesday by the International Energy Agency.

“U.S. shale oil will help meet most of the world’s new oil needs in the next five years, even if demand rises from a pick-up in the global economy,” the Paris-based agency said in its five-year outlook, called the Medium-Term Oil Market Report.

“North American supply is an even bigger deal than we thought. A real game changer in every way,” said Maria van der Hoeven, the IEA’s executive director.

She said that North American production has set off a “supply shock that is sending ripples throughout the world” and urged the United States to dismantle the Export Administration Act of 1979 that bans the sale of U.S.

Salesforce.com to set up data centre in UK

The data centre will be company’s sixth data centre worldwide

Enterprise cloud computing company, Salesforce.com has signed an agreement with a wholly owned subsidiary of NTT Communications, NTT Europe to set up a data centre in the UK.

The data centre will help the company in offering cloud computing services across its increasing customer base in Europe, Middle East and Africa, after it is completed in 2014.

Salesforce.com chairman and CEO Marc Benioff said Europe region was company’s fastest growing region in fiscal year 2013, delivering constant currency revenue growth of 38%.

“We are doubling down on Europe with the announcement of our new data centre in the UK, which will support continued customer success in EMEA,”Benioff said.

NTT Europe Wholesale Data Centre Business managing director Robin Balen said that the new data centre will be completely powered by renewable energy sources and will deliver an environmentally friendly facility for its customers in the region.

“NTT Europe is proud to extend its partnership with salesforce.com by supporting its enterprise cloud computing services in EMEA.” Balen added.
